Polio Plus

PDG Bob Bruce joined us at our regular club meeting and updated us on the Polio Plus Project. For four years, Bob was the Director in charge of the Foundaton at the District Level and he has served the district so well that he has now "moved on" to be an assistant Foundation representative at the Zone level
Bob provided us with the detail associated with the Polio Plus campaign including some of the impediments to the complete annihilation of Polion; it exists in only four countries - Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and within THOSE countries, only in small pockets. It is hoped that this will be a "non-issue" in a few years, thanks to the efforts of Rotary members world-wide.
Bob was accompanied by his wife, Nan. Both are members of the Waterdown Rotary Club and VERRRRY acive Rotarians. Nan is the current chair of the Friendship Exchange program in the District.
