Barry Forth, co-chair of Dundas Hockeyville, reminded us that Hockeyville Canada is a Kraft Canada country-wide competition where communities vie for $100 000 plus an NHL preseason hockey game in the local arena.
The competition started with 650 entries and was narrowed down to 12. Then voting began and Dundas moved to the top 5. More voting followed and after over a million votes, some of which were done by our club members and their families, Dundas was victorious.

The win meant NHL and CBC executives visited the J.L. Grightmire Arena in preparation for the September 28 NHL preseason game between the Sabres and the Senators.
On August 11, there will be an announcement at the arena on how the 980 tickets will be dispersed. The Stanley Cup will be at the Dundas Driving Park on September 26 with NHL alumni visiting Dundas schools.
Barry asked us to look for the next issue of Kraft - What's Cooking magazine and the October issue of Readers' Digest where Dundas Hockeyville will be featured.
The $100 000 won will go toward a legacy project to upgrade the J.L. Grightmire Arena.
