Ralph Montesanto Charter President 1999 - 2000
Born and raised in Dundas, Ralph may be the best investment Rotary ever made. He attended Parkside High School and at graduation received a Rotary bursary. Ralph has been paying this back many, many times over the course of twenty years with his leadership, enthusiasm and boundless energy for all things Rotary.
Ralph has not only been president of the DVSRC, he has also been an Assistant governor, and a District governor for D7090. He administered polio vaccine in India, was a visiting Rotarian to China, Haiti, Nepal, New Zealand, and Australia, a delegate to at least 6 R.I. conventions, and a district facilitator and trainer as well as a Youth Exchange and Group Study Exchange host.

Throughout these 20 years, he remains a dedicated lead of and giver to countless local club projects and causes. Peppy, persuasive, personable, Ralph is one of a kind and we are most fortunate to have him as a leader in Dundas.

Kurt Schlange President 2000-2001
KURT SCHLANGE
Our second President was Kurt Schlange. He was born in Dundas and attended Yorkview Public School before moving to West Hamilton where he finished his education. He returned to Dundas as a loans manager for the CIBC and after a stint in Ancaster he became the branch manager of Canada Trust in Dundas. During his year as president, the club was just getting started. He recalls a group of energetic individuals working to raise community awareness and expand membership.

The two events that began in his year were Art in the Park – which continues to this day now under the leadership of June and ivor Lynch – and the 5K and 1K Run for City Kidz in the Dundas Driving Park.
Kurt’s work took him out of Dundas and the club but he remains interested in all things Rotary. His current past times see him being a grandfather to seven children, a guitar player in the “ Russian Kurfew” , a local 60’s and 70’s band, and a volunteer at the Warplane Heritage Museum.
