District Governor Joanne's first club visit was to our club. She considers herself to be untraditional in her thinking and urged us to be creative and to continue the club legacy.

Joanne is a Hamilton Police officer in the forensic division. When she first started in policing she was a patrol officer and dealt with some very dark situations that had an effect on her. Her commander suggested she join a Rotary club to see the good that can be done. She did join and became president of the Rotary Club of Lincoln, serving 2 years as president. When she attended her first Rotary International convention in England and visited the House of Friendship, Rotary helped restore her faith in humanity. She has since become involved in the Rotary Action Group Against Slavery, has attended RCMP training and is working to promote more club involvement in the prevention of Human Trafficking.
