Lindsay Puddicombe (Puddicombe Farms and Estate Winery in Stoney Creek) and Bob Morrow provided an overview of their trip to Bulgaria as part of the Group Study Exchange Program, sponsored by Rotary
Lindsay, along with Chevonn Digby (retail and import manager for Diamond Estate Wines), Amanda Vizcarra-Crafts (tasting room manager, Vizcarra Vineyards) and Patti Daughrity (Quincy Cellars), spent 4 weeks studying the wine and tourism industry in Bulgaria. The program's main function is to promote international understanding and peace. This is done by having young people from the more than 500 Rotary Districts exchange for a 4 - 6 week period. This was 7090's first "vocationally-focussed" exchange and it was a great success. The team visited 11 wineries, 15 vineyards, and took part in a variety of Rotary events including the District Conference.
