Duncan Macintosh is a charter member of the Rotary Club of Dundas Valley Sunrise and now a past member, past co-owner of a travel agency and the owner of Soccer World on Frid Street which he purchased in 2010.
In June 2022 he purchased the 14 acre Wentworth Triple Rinks complex and set about building the programs. He introduced youth programs, hired coaches and set up a nature camp that sees 100 kids per week.
Then on December 30 2024 after remodelling the rinks a devastating fire destroyed a significant part of the complex before it would open to the public. The fire started in the Zamboni room after a contractor doing grinding work sparked a blaze. Dealing with the insurance company and the bank was not pleasant and a significant part of reconstruction fell on his shoulders. Now the complex is open and thriving with almost 1000 vehicles a day entering the property. Here is an outline of the operation.
