April Terreau of Navigating Integrity Associates is dedicated to creating healthy workplaces by dealing effectively with harassment. She trained with the legal firm Rubin Thomlinson, LLP, one of the top workplace investigative firms.

Since 2016 it has been the employer’s legal responsibility to have a harassment free workplace. Her talk outlined the employer’s obligations, defined harassment, provided a framework for dealing with complaints and recommended assessment to ensure a proactive approach to maintaining a safe healthy workplace. Specifically she recommended that employers of businesses of 3 or more develop written harassment policies that are reviewed annually. The employer must provide training, a procedure for workplace investigation; an alternate person to report harassment to as well as they must maintain confidentiality and carefully communicate results of any investigation and the ensuing corrective actions.

Since internal investigations may be difficult, April’s job as an external investigator comes into play. April gave a solid overview of the process from complaint to resolution to workplace assessment. She has a number of free podcast with expert guests who provide hands on solutions to workplace issues. https://open.spotify.com/show/36L18PKiXuXTf7rF3jeJsGhttp://https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cHM6Ly9hbmNob3IuZm0vcy8yMGY1NWJhYy9wb2RjYXN0L3Jzcw==https://www.breaker.audio/the-harassment-free-workplace-podcasthttps://pca.st/tiviexsvhttps://www.breaker.audio/the-harassment-free-workplace-podcast,http://www.anchor.fm/april-terreauhttp://https://radiopublic.com/the-harassment-free-workplace-pod-G2N4EV
